Early Christmas gift to Switch King users!

We have during a longer period been in contact with Tommy Sitsas and Magnus Hansson who have shown interest in taking over Switch King and continue development. We are now happy to announce that the deal is getting close.

We are confident that Tommy and Magnus are capable of developing Switch King further and are positive to the plans they have for Switch King. We find it great that Switch King will live on and continue to be developed.

Tommy and Magnus will take over the company in January 2017 and are planning to start sales of licenses again during January. More information will be posted in the first week after New Year's Eve.

We will of course support Tommy and Magnus to get started in a good way.

Ny iOS-app för Switch King

Det har nu kommit en uppdaterad inofficiell iOS app till AppStore för Switch King. Appen är anpassad till alla de senaste iOS versionerna och utvecklingen drivs av två Switch King användare som antagit sig iOS projektet för att driva det vidare och hålla det aktivt.
För att undvika direkta kopplingar till företaget Switch King AB så går appen under ett annat namn – King Switch.

Bland nyheterna i appen märks:

• Anpassad för de senaste versionerna av iOS
• Uppdaterade UI komponenter och reglage
• Nytt utseende samt nya ikoner
• Fixar och förbättringar för iOS 8-9
• Prestandaoptimeringar

Feature expansion in Switch king

Unfortunately we no longer intend to add new functionality in Switch King server and client in the future.

We will keep Switch King Live, this website and the forum up and running. We have also decided to lower the prices to SEK 189/SEK 129. License fees are used to cover administrative costs and hosting costs.

Switch King will still be open for developers to extend the functionality by adding plugins. We both use Switch King to automate our homes and are very pleased with the functionality the system has to offer.

If we end up in a situation where we need to shut down Switch King's web site and Live service, we will announce it at least 18 months in advance on Switch Kings web site.

We have invested 7 years in this project and spent a great deal of our spare time for developing and maintaining it, but now have to lower the level of ambition to care for our own health and families. We have learned a great deal on this amazing journey and would like to take the opportunity to thank all users who have supported this project throughout the years.

Koden för Switch Kings iOS-app tillgänglig på GitHub

Vi har nu gjort koden för Switch Kings iOS-app tillgänglig som ett open source-projekt för den som vill bygga vidare på appen på egen hand. Vi tror att dagens app kan vara en bra en grund för att utveckla en egen app för Switch King med möjlighet att lägga till ny funktionalitet eller skapa en ny "look and feel".

Om intresse finns så supportar vi att ändringar görs för appen och vi kommer då att sköta administrationen med att släppa ny version på AppStore för Switch Kings officiella app. Denna kommer även fortsättningsvis att vara Gratis.

För den som vill göra mer omfattande ändringar eller lägga till ny funktionalitet så föreslår vi att man gör en fork (eller tankar ner koden) och sedan släpper appen själv under eget namn. Det behöver då framgå att Switch King inte är utgivare av denna. Vi kommer inte att ha några synpunkter på prissättningen av en sådan version på appen.
