How to get started with Switch King Live

To be able to use Switch King Live, a valid license is required. First, Switch King Live needs to be activated. Activation is performed in the Windows client. After that - start the app in your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Android.

Prepare and activate Switch King Live on your server

Switch King comes with Switch King Live. However, the server does not connect to the Live service unless you explicitly requests it to do so. Before Switch King connects to the Live service, you are requested to agree on Terms of Service.

To activate Switch King Live - start the Windows client and go to "Tools - Settings - Server". Here, you'll find the configuration options that enables Live.

Username and password

Enter the username and password that the server will use to authenticate users to grant access to your server. Switch King Live never saves or inspects the username or password - they are passed straight through from the connecting client to your local server.

Enter a username and password that you are not using for other purposes than Switch King Live.

Activate Live and request Live ID

When checking "Use Switch King Live for remote access" you'll have to agree on the Terms of Service. When you've done so, the server will connect to live.switchking.se.

Next step is to requiest a unique ID - a Live ID - making it possible for your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Android device to locate your own server. Click on "Request new Live ID...".

Note the Live ID you're being assigned - you'll need this when configuring your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Android-enhet.

Configure the iPhone app for Live

The iPhone app is already adapted for Live. After installing the app on your device, go to the settings screen.

Enter the following information:

Address: live.switchking.se
Port: 8800
Username: The username you specified in the Windows client
Password: The password you specified in the Windows client
Server ID: The Live ID you was assinged when requesting a new ID from the Windows client

Configure the Android app for Live

The Android app is fully adapted for Live. Under "Settings", select the option to use "Switch King Live". Supply information about username, password and the server identity (available through the Windows client).
