A glimpse of Switch King Live
Switch King v1.10 is currently being tested by beta testers. In the new version, Switch King Live makes its entrance.
In v0.8 of Switch King, REST was introduced as a way for mobile devices to connect to Switch King. By configuring a username, password, port and IP address, you could get access to Switch King's devices through an Android or iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch). To get access to the server from the Internet, you were required to open ports in the router or firewall and to get hold of the public IP address for your router. With Switch King Live, it's not necessary to configure Port Forwarding.
When Switch King Live is activated in Switch King Server, the server connects to the Live service - from inside your local network. Your local server notifies the Live service of its existence and opens a communication channel to Switch King Live.
Once connected, you configure your iOS device or Android device to connect to Switch King Live instead of directly to your local server. By using a unique key - known by both your server and your mobile client - your mobile client finds its way to your server.
Switch King Live is free for users holding a valid license that has not expired.
